wde 15-Sept Cafe at Arles

Tres had hosted the wde and had posted a few images from places that Van Gogh had visited/painted...
By some vague coincidence, earlier that week, I was flipping through a book "Van Gogh - The Complete Paintings" by a publisher named Taschen... It has all the paintings by Van Gogh...
And it was wonderful that some images for that weeks wde were from places linked to him...
I decided to do the Cafe at Arles... its kind of more leaning towards the original since I painted the top half in blue... kind of ignoring the light coming from the street lights(of modern era)...
This is 12.5cms*18cms, acrylic on sketchpaper...

4th Bangalore Sketchcrawl 24-Aug

The 4th Bangalore sketchcrawl was held on 24th Aug... It was the first time that we were a big group... We were me, Anand, Tejal, Shobha, Smriti, Fredric, Vincent, Arun, Preeti, P's cousin and one more guy whose name I have forgotten... We started at the Bull Temple and then moved to Cubbon Park... It was fun as usual and more so since we were a bigger number and more sketches to share...

The dog in the next sketch was a favourite with everyone... He was lazing around for a long time that gave us all ample time to sketch...

wde 20-Jun

We all will be missing the wde this week since there is some technical error and the website is being pulled off the web... all content is being moved to a new/safer location... All members of Wetcanvas are waiting eagerly for the website to be back in action...

2nd bangalore sketchcrawl 21-Jun

Saturday 21st jun was another day of fun and sketches... and must say colours as well... Imade sure I took my photocolours along to add colours that I missed on the last sketchcrawl... We were 3 guys - myself, Anand Bora and Prashanth Acharya... Harsha joined us but was a silent spectator of the event... We started at the MG road and then moved on to Chitrakala Parishat... the idea to sketch more at Majestic bus-stand was spoiled by rain but I guess we had had enough by then :)...

So here are my sketches for the day...

3 warm-up sketches...

then is the garbage truck... glad that it was stationed for a while and I could complete the sketch... coloured it much later though...

then we moved to brigade road... first up is a guy at a tailor shop mending some clothes... then some random sketches from the street...

this guy was waiting for someone outside KFC while we were waiting for Yamini... She reports for the Deccan Herald and wanted to understand what sketchcrawl was all about... lots of questions and hope she got her answers...

After this we went to Chitrakala Parishat which is an art school... we had a look at photography exhibition by M N Jayakumar... then it was back to some more sketches...

We moved to Majestic bus-stand but it started raining and so we had to call it a day...

I plan to host the next sketchcrawl in July... if you want to join, please email at bangaloresketchcrawl@gmail.com
